Let's talk about Tuna

I just want to take this time to talk about tuna. Mainly because yesterday's trip to the supermarket got me thinking.

Did you know that unless we do something immediately, tuna will be extinct by 2012?

That's three years.

in three years, no tuna.

Doesn't that scare you a bit?

Blue-fin tuna stocks are in massive trouble, and now as a result we have to switch to other species of tuna to fill the demand for it it worldwide. Albacore and skipjack are now being used in place of bluefin, but we could endanger their stocks if you we continue to do this.

To do your part, simply STOP eating tuna. Until tuna stocks show some kind of recovery, people need to stop eating it. The demand for them will go down, meaning less will be caught, meaning their population might start to come back a little. It is quite frankly astonishing how close we are to an extinction and yet we choose not to do anything about it.

Do your part, DON'T EAT TUNA!
